An Interlude

I interrupt my regular programming to celebrate 10,000 views and my one year anniversary on The Old Lady in My Bones. I wrote my first post on August 6th, 2012. I started this blog to unearth an element of the absurdity in my disease and to help me cope with the challenges it presents. I wanted to create a place to share my experiences living with Rheumatoid Arthritis through narratives laced with a bit of humour and poetic imagery. Along the way I have connected with a number of amazing people, many suffering from some type of arthritis or chronic illness. I have even connected with people who don’t have chronic illness, and for those people, I hoped to help them understand what it feels like to live with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

A huge thank you to the bloggers who have connected with me and invited me into their worlds, supporting me in my endeavour to cope with this disease; a huge thank-you to all my visitors and readers who have popped by for a peek, a “like” and a comment; a huge thank-you to my friends and family who have to live with me living with this disease. I look forward to another year of sharing and connecting.

There are so many incredible writers out there and so many amazing blogs on this topic; each of us has our own story to tell. Some of them are located in my blogroll; I admit I am behind in adding others I’ve discovered, but there are several to be found on the web.

To the people who struggle with any type of chronic illness: stay strong, focus on the positive aspects in your life, live your life the best you can, and always remember, you are not alone in your fight.

Now, to return to our regular programming for this week: The Blurry Eye.

Time does fly. Wish RA would fly away, but no such luck! But still, it will not get the best of us.Glad you decided to blog and here’s to another year of blogging!

Thanks so much Irma. You have been a kindred spirit in my world of blogging, and I look forward to another year. And yes, it would be lovely if RA would fly away.
