J.G. Chayko
AUTHOR
J.G. Chayko is a writer, actress, dancer and arthritis advocate. She has published several works of poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction. She is the author of two blogs: The Old Lady in My Bones, a series of essays on her experience living with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and a writing blog called Corkboards and Coffeehouses.
Her work has appeared in Event Poetry and Prose, ¡Hastings! Literary Journal, Boston Literary Magazine, SAPP: poetry + art zine, Passion Poetry, Canadian Stories and Shotgun Honey. In 2024, she won first place in Royal City Literary Art Society's Write On! contest in the non-fiction category for her story "Homewrecker." She has had feature articles with Pain Free Living Magazine, and Arthritis Digest UK. She is a contributing writer to three anthologies: Emerge 19: The Writers Studio Anthology; Strange World: A Biff Bam Pop Short Story Anthology; and Real Life Diaries: Living with Rheumatic Diseases.
In 2025 she was the non-fiction judge for the Royal City Literary Art Society's Write On! Contest, and a judge for the Book Awards for B.C. Authors.
She lives in the beautiful west coast city of Vancouver B.C. with her husband and rooms filled with books. A graduate from the Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University, she has just finished a first novel.
